Nice to see someone else posting a journal, hope more do it next year. Those are some nice perch .....have to check how far it is to Caspian.

Nice to see someone else posting a journal, hope more do it next year. Those are some nice perch .....have to check how far it is to Caspian. Caspian is about 45 minutes from Barre or an hour and 45 minutes from Burlington. In the past few years I have never gotten skunked up there. If you are going to try through the ice, I'd suggest early season- Although the perch bite for perch gets better towards February. We don't get many perch but when we do they are slabs! In 2009, we got 4 over 16".

Fish were constantly biting throughout day. Mostly sunnies/gills in the 5-7" range and big perch. Caught several hundred fish throughout the day. Lots of activity after dark. Mostly perch though. Crappie turned on around 2pm then off at 220 and back on around 4 till dark. When they were on bait was not needed! Most of the fish were in the 8-10" range. Only two shorts and dropped a bigun in the hole around 10.
