I have been doing some research and see that alot of panfish fishermen have been using the new lindy jig. You simply change the head of the jig with a choice of multiple colors and sizes. Seems pretty cool, anyone else hear about them?

Thanks for the info. I'm starting to make my own hair jigs and would love some input on colors, sizes, and lengths from some of the seasoned pros on here. I'm not talking your secret set up just tips to help me and my younger brothers to get a few crappie this spring in summer. Thanks in advance.

Out of the VT rule book
Sec. 1 10 V.S.A. Section 4606(g): A person shall not use a lead sinker for taking of fish in any state waters. In this section, "sinker" means any device which weighs one-half ounce or less and is attached to a fishing line for the purpose of sinking the line, and does not include other lead fishing-related items such as weighted fly line, lead-core fishing line, downrigger cannon balls, weighted flies, lures, spoons, or jig heads.
I think this is because when you snap a jig head off its most likely stuck in a log or a rock, not on the bottom like sinkers. That way the birds cant pick them up from the bottom. But thats just what I think.

As long as its a jig head and not just a weight you should be good to go!

Here is my first attempt. I have a feeling that it is to long of a jig, but its the smallest i could find in my area that wasn't an 1/8 ounce. Any suggestions would help.

find a smaller jig head, and maybe a different size hook might help. They look good though.

I would also suggest wrapping more of a body on it before the tail starts.

They are lead and not permanent so I think it's a problem and they don't work as well as the jigs we use.
