Here are two of my more recent attempts, still working on getting smaller jig heads but i think i have the technique down (well kinda). I still have a few things to improve the body but I think im getting there.

those will work, as long as you tied good knots on the bodies.

If you want something smaller look at some fly-shops. I've seen some as small as 1/100oz jigheads...

Thanks for the advice. I was able to find some smaller jig heads at an online fly shop like you said. Decided to go with 1/32 and 1/16 after talking to bobby awhile back. Putting the order in today and I can start making more once they come in. I also found a much better way to secure the tag end of the body once I finish them, the two pictured would probably unravel after a short amount of time.

Whip finish with a bit of head cement? I need to get back into tying when I get back home...

I’ll have to give that a try. I just got back into making jigs it gives me something to do at home. I’m also going to start making flies for cod and haddock fishing down in Hampton.

This is the place I got my jig heads from. The guy was extremely helpful and it looks like the jigs he makes are real nice. But anything looks real nice when you look at my jigs. jasonsjigs.webs.com/

Here is a picture of my most recent attempt at a crappie jig (Pictured below my last attempt). They are 1/16 oz. I think im starting to get a little better at it, but I still have a ways to go. The next step is to figure out how to give them more of a body. Any advice (good or bad) is welcome. Andy
