Ok everyone first, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wishing everyone a SAFE, HEALTHY, and PROSPEROUS 2013 and may you all enjoy some GREAT ICE FISHING this winter! Now we had planned to fish today but after checking the wind we decided to take a ride Northeast and see what was going on..so what I can tell you is this:
KING'S BAY, KELLY'S BAY, ISLE LA MOTTE, and yes DILLENBECK all had at least 3 people fishing ..Isle LaMotte had a few more including a crew that appeared to be trying to recover whatever it was that went thru the ice yesterday! CARRY BAY had no one on it but someone sure had been there as there were a lot of holes cut..PACQUETTE'S also had no one and there are a whole lot of new posted signs including some on the lake..lol
it looks like everywhere the snow is NOT a problem looks like the wind was very good to us and blew most of it around so it won't be up to my waist anyway..I still wouldn't be taking any 4-wheelers or snowmobiles out in any of these places but with the temps going to places we like as in below freezing we should have a great season..
Plans are to be on the ice Saturday ..if ANY of you have anything more ..remember to SHARE!
as always STAY SAFE and HAVE FUN! PINK

Carry was slow yesterday. Managed a few bass on tipups along with a couple pickerel.

None of the above were iced. Other groups out there were having real slow days too it seemed. All over we had 3-4 inches of hard black ice. Some spots had slush and/or white ice layered on top. Make sure to keep your distance from the culvert as the ice was noticeably thinner.

It was a wheeler that went down on Monday off ILM east shore. I believe they got it out today. The wind was bad and the bite wasn't anything to write home about but I did catch some nice ones. if anyone does get on Pauquettes be careful. I checked the ice just around the corner in the passage and it wasn't good. Spud bar went through with 1 shot every step and that was 50' from shore. I didn't even try to fish it. It just barely caught then the snow came. Not real solid from what I can tell.
