If you aren't in too much of a hurry to get one, what length would you like ? I know a guy who could build you one.....

Are you talking about a Jason Mitchell Meatstick rod series? I called Lakeshore Ace a few weeks ago and they didnt have any. I couldnt find one in VT and had to order one from Cabelas. I got the 20", and now im wondering if I should have gotten the 24". Anyone know what length is better???

Depends on what you're looking for, the 20 would be good for fishing inside your shack, other than that I like the longer rods for pannies. . . .

Gents;
Thanks for your replies. Lakeshore did not have any. I ended up getting one at Cabela's. I need this for a Christmas gift.

The 20" seems a little on the small and fragile side. Im going to pick up a case for it so it doesnt get damaged when im driving to the lake. Does anyone know if the tip on that would break if I hooked a bigger fish, like a Lake Trout or northern? Still cant decide if I wanna send it back and get a 24".

They use the same blank for the 20"-24" and the 28" be careful and you'll like it.

I stopped in to Lakeshore the other day and they had some 20" and 28" models there. I have one of the 28" models that works great. Ive caught some nice largemouth on it and I havent had any problems so far. I would suggest getting a 20" if you fish in a shack, not sure how many fish ive dropped because I hit the top of the shack on the hook set but there have been quite a few!
