Headed south today for the family dinner with the inlaws and got out for a quick trip while I was there. We fished for a couple hours with only a few seeds and perch before I finally got a short crappie on a red/white tube.It was a tough bite to say the least. I tried a slip float first with many different color changes and bait. we used tubes, curly tail grubs and Bobby Garland swimmin minnow. Switched to a thill spring clip foat and after alot of expirmenting retrieves I started gettin bit by turning the reel only enough to make the float tip over so the top stem would touch the surface then let it stand back up. The crapps would barely pull it down maybe a 1/4 inch, basicaly the float would just start shaking. Ended up with 6 good ones and 3-4 shorts then had to go do the dinner thing. Not a slammer day by any means, but it was some what satisfying to get some sort of pattern figured out.

Sometimes when the water is cold like it is they want it moving just a little bit. Great discovery and glad you got on some fish.
