Time to expand my fishing territory. I see from the F&W Webpage that large perch are caught in Caspian(pic of 15 incher), seems like a good reason to go there. F&W Site doesn't list an access for Caspian but google earth shows something that looks like an access on the south end , can someone confirm ? From the lake maps I've seen, that lake gets awful deep in places. I thought I would try to go no deeper than 50 ft. I figure I can start with Swedish Pimple, Jigging Rap, maybe a Chubby Darter . Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Theres a boat launch on the south end of the lake. if you drive on ice you should be fine. Apparently, trucks are all I've it this year. The fishing will be slow compared to carmi but if you can find some you won't be disappointed!

Another thing to keep in mind is that most if not all of those big perch are being caught on tip ups set up for lakers.
