Scott and Jamie, Everyone in Vt. seems to think that I'm crazy to have doubts about the use of 15 tipups per person at Champlain Its just too many and allows one fisherman to take up acres of ice! What would happen at Dillenbeck Tourney if everone decided to put out 14 tipups and jig one hole? I don't see anything in the rules that limits fishermen to one rod each? Dick

Thanks Scott! Maybe that should be noted in the list of rules? Hope I can make the derby but so far I can't find any room at the inn and my reservations at Holiday Harbor don't start until Sunday. I'm kind of glad to hear that its so difficult to get on Carry and Pelots Bay because I will have access to both. If you and Jamie have any energy left that week maybe you can come along the Pelots and help me find fish. Dick

I have access to all the fishing up north so I can take you to the bite. You could stay in Burlington or colchester something like that and drive about 35 to 40 min. Just a thought. As for the rules we have them written just not all on the site We will make them clear at the rules meeting the morning of the tournament

[/quote Eric, Maybe I'm just jealous!! On the other hand I was happy to only pull 6 traps in the cold this afternoon. We always set traps with small pin arks for crappie while we jig one or two holes. Never got a blue gill though. The traps help us keep track of where the crappie are schooling. More crappie with jig pole and Vex though!! Dick

I have set up tip downs with fatheads for crappies and caught gills before.....they get the minnow stuck in their mouth and rarely even get hooked...it is quite a site

just some thoughts. . . . .Dillen is a huge bay, for sure there will be more than just us tourney guys there. The fish can be hard to find especially in Jan. and once found it is critical to chase and stay with them. If you like to drill some holes and set up then thats your style, I would highly encourage you to be ready to move at the drop of a hat and not be tied down. Like I said, i'm not telling anyone what to do but I just thought I would throw that in there.
