if someone needs a shelter that doesn't have one, let me know, I have an extra HT tent shelter that I can bring up for someone to use....

I know I shouldn't do this but I can't help it.If you are going to cheat you don't need a Shanty to do it.And if you need to cheat for that kind of money that's sad.I really don't care about the 1end person Shanty rule as I fish by myself.Kayla normally helps out which I am so proud of her she does a great job.I understand James and Scott do a wonderful job and alot of hard work to get this done. I appreciate it I truly do they are both great friends of mine I hope that it continues. I just wish that I was aware of people being accused of cheating I have never heard a bad word at all.And I have received alot of feedback.I just don't like that we loose anyone that fishes our tourneys.Cause I know they do like to fish together. And justin and Kristen same. I know there is alot of great prizes and alot of generous gifts from sponsors that is Awesome..But the point is if someone is going to cheat you can cheat no matter what rules that you make or anything is going to stop it..And if one of our sportsman members is going to do it for that kind of money I. guess we should take donations for them cause that makes me sad that someone would do that to anyone of us.Cause look at the values of a True Sportsman And I can give you my prime Example is Scott yes our Scott I asked him to show me how to do this panfishing stuff he took me under his wing and shares it all and James also but I bought a boat and Scott sold me for hardlynothing

Sorry was posting from my phone and he sold me it for hardly nothing and it was like new and then he knew Kayla and I are going to duck hunt together and he have me a bag full of decoys and even floater geese. Now if you don't think that is a true sportsman or true friend.Just like james for helping me get setup with my vexilars and my clam shanties and my strikemaster augers. I truly appreciate there friendships and being such great sportsman I wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy Holidays just sad that it comes to this

I agree with dody, seems things are getting a bit serious.people are going to find a way to cheat if they want to.this isn't a tournament for thousands of dollars.I know with the boys up north here they don't like.the idea either.what's Dan suppose to do spend 90 dollars on entry fees for him and his boys and they can't fish together in a shanty?none of us were looking to join the bass master circut.

Well now that Christmas is over it is time to start thinking about FISHING! More important, time for me to keep up with the “boards”. So I will now give my 2 cents on this topic.
Ricky and I have travelled all over the United States for professional fishing tournaments. For several years I also worked on the tournament crews. We have pretty much seen and heard it all. Cheaters and talk of cheaters. It is a sad truth but they do exist. It is also sad that there are people who unjustly accuse others. Fortunately, that is why there are rules and tournament directors in place to protect the integrity of those of us who do something we love honestly. Last year was our first year fishing the tournaments and we were and continue to be impressed with the outstanding job Jamie and Scott have done with these tournaments. There are many people that have contributed to the success to each tournament from the sponsors who donate the many prizes to the gentleman that is our “limo driver”! Also contributing to the success of these tournaments are the anglers themselves. Sharing their wisdom, tips, information, tackle, and more important their friendship. We are very fortunate to be able to call many of you our friends and look forward to making more this year.
With that being said and if my understanding of statements made and the interpretation of the rule is: that only 1 person in the shanty to FISH is correctly understood it is not to discourage anyone from fishing but to make it an even more inviting event for all to enjoy. I fish in our tent by myself. Why? Because as a family we are fishing as competitively against each other as we are against all tournament entrants. It is our right at family and friend’s gatherings to have the bragging right of who caught the most or biggest, and to be able to have our “loser” bear the brunt of being teased. I do hope that the directors make it clear as to checking on the person in the tent is permissible, warming up, a bite to eat, and assistance with tackle. In general, checking on the safety and well- being of your partner, buddy, friend or child left in a tent to fish by themselves. Do you all remember the last tournament of the season last year when the wind was so bad that it blew me and my fish all over the ice? As tough as an old bird that I am I was scared to death. Fortunately, Ricky was nearby and came to my aid. Scott came out and picked me up. Luckily I was not injured beyond some bumps and bruises. I would not want any man, woman, or child to have to go thru that.
The bottom line is this. ..We are all out there to have a little competitive fun. If the thought of cheating to win or place in a tournament has crossed anyone’s mind I hope that what you win is worth losing the trust and respect of your fellow anglers and more important your own self-respect.
Till we see you on the ice..which we hope is SOON
As always, Stay safe and have fun! Pink

I see both sides to the rule! I was one person that fished with a buddy and I have to say that was a great part of the day to keep each other going when the fish weren't biting. The only thing I really hate about the rule is that it will force everyone to buy there own shanty there own vexlar, heater auger jigs, etc, etc, and for the common man like my self I can't afford all that. That is the part I don't like. It's my understanding that the rule was strongly suggested by the sponsors (correct me if I'm wrong) but that is my understanding. With that being said the pay out for each tournament is better than the island tournament for each category. And the door prizes they just keep coming, who don't like that! I guess if that is the only thing we have to do to get all kinds of prizes than so be it. I was also told that there will be a big hut or something for people to go to and warm up if that is the case I think that will help with people who don't have a shanty. I hope the weather is great so we can fish out side than the rule will not even matter!

I wanted to say a few more things about my post earlier in the week.I was just trying to voice my opinion, didn't mean to come off as harsh.I will still be attending and very much looking forward to the tournaments.also wanted to say that we greatly appreciate what Scott and Jamie are doing to put this on.without them we have nothing.I know trying to run something like this can be a pain.so whatever u guys decide on shanty rule the boys from north the will still be there and we are still going to bring it!
