I just went out and punched some holes. Got 2" around edges and slightly less out deeper. temp is up to 11 right now. Not bad!

I don't suppose you have any fish under that ice ?? I normally fish Champlain but may be visiting inland lakes if they freeze up first .

It's the pond at my house. Right around 13 feet deep. I probably could catch some fish. Its stocked with trout up to about 25" now. Great for the nephews to fish through the ice! I'll wait a for a bit more ice before I spend much time on it. With the spring it get a bit scary and ice thickness changes quick...

:)OK! I have 1" plus on my nearby 50 acres trout pond here! Anyone guess how long it will take to give me 3 or 4". Nights are supposed to be in the teens for a week. My grandchildren say its Ok because they only weigh 60 or 70 lbs.  I'm anxious but not too anxious. Dick |

Just punched 4 holes. Ice ranged from 2.5-3". Looks like tomorrow I may have to drop a line!

The last two years I got out a littler earlier than I probably should have. Fishing on 2" is a bad idea but hey, I've never said I always make the right choice! Gonna try to hold off as long as I can.
