For the second winter in a row I've gotten 1,000 wax worms from Best Bet Wax worms. They survived (60 degrees in the cellar) all winter and turned out to be the best bait for crappie and blue gills When there are lots of yellow perch around I feed them spikes I get the spikes a tube at a time from WalMart. Best Bet also has glow colored wax worms if you are wiling to pay the price. I don't know how to compare the cost of wax worms to spikes because you only use one fat and juicy wax worm instead of three or four spikes at a time. But if you are really cost conscious you can order a wax worm breeding kit ($25) and have an unlimited number of worms throughout the winter. In any event don't forget to bring along some trusty worms or crawlers ;D Dick
