first ice superstitions

Saw this topic posted on ice panty...anybody have a first ice superstition they want to share? Or every trip superstitions?

A few that stuck out:

-Always throw the first fish back.
-drill several holes but don't fish out of the first one at all.
-throw a bibbet or something lucky down the hole (within reason).

I've never given this any thought but I'm thinking throw the first fish back AND not drop a line down the first hole.

Good luck this season everybody. Looking forward to seeing you all again and having fun at the derbies. Hope we can share some good info and fill some buckets! I also hope we all have a safe season, esp with all of us eager to get on the first (few) inch(s) of ICE!!

Cant say I have one either. I normally toss back the first fish but thats only because its not a keeper. Maybe ill have to try something new this year and start one.

I have 2:

1. Always start with the same rod, reel and lure

2. Always throw back the first fish
