Well I've been off since last thursday 9-28.,Started the weekend with atrip to Hampton NH for two days aboard the F/V Yellow Bird, did pretty well on the pollack and cod with a few haddock thrown in, came home with 70 lbs or so of fillets for the freezer. rest of the week was spent trying to intercept the wily whitetail and I literally stumbled onto the hottest spot I have ever yet to hunt.Went in weds at 11:30am to try and find a stand location and came face to face with a nice 4point. hung a stand right there . went home cleaned up and was back by 3. wasn't there 5 minutes and a small doe showed up which I passed. Saw 4 more around 5 and misjudged the yardage resulting in a clean miss over the back of a nice big doe. Thurs another nice doe came in at 5:55 giving me a nice quartering away shot at 10 yrds and I stuck her right in the shoulder blade. Only 3-4 inch of arrow penetratin and absolutely no bloodtrail. found the arrow 50soyards away. Went friday in the am did an extensive search with no luck. Rested the stand friday albeit about killed me stayin away. SaturdayI was back at 3pm and at 4:50 I hear crunchin leaves behind me and sure enuf another doe is already in range. Perfect quartering awy at 20 yards and I drilled her. Very short 50 yard blood trail double lunger. 107 lb. Very good ending to a great week
