One of the most gorgeous days i've ever been on the water. Wish i would have taken some pics. Fished really hard from 8-2. Got into a bunch of jumbos stacked up in one bay. Thought I had found the crappie when I was marking them, stacked in 16 fow on structure. No crappie, perch, smallies and one bullhead that must have been a state record. Talked to two other boats, same deal. One boat did manage an 18 inch walleye but thats it. That same boat said this time last year the bite really started to pick up. We'll see.

I'm hoping to get back up there soon. My guess is that a lot of the Crappie come close to the bottom there. I noticed last winter and during open water a lot of perch were suspended, often 10-15 feet of bottom (in the deeper water).
I can't believe the size of the bullhead in there, massive!

I had a report of a guys getting a lot of crappie there with minnows over by the island. We tried that, no luck, we have found a lot of humps that will be places to check come winter.

Sounds about right. K and I did some Crapps over there this summer. Those humps north of the island seem like they would be good but never heard much coming off them.
Good luck.
