Got my fifth different fish tonight on a fly in the Winooski in my quest to be a "Master Angler". My largest rainbow to date and biggest fish on a fly! 23.5"

Oh cool. That perch you got was huge, wasn't that 2 ounces shy of the state record?
That master anger program is pretty cool...except when people submit several entries of the same fish species.

The perch was only 0.7 ounce shy of matching the existing record! Imagine what it would have weighed if it were caught a few weeks later and the eggs had developed a bit more! Even better, at the end of trout season when she was just about ripe! Still a hog! Our joke on the lake up there is "we're so good we s*** state records" - mainly because we never knew what the record weight was. Should have looked before we ate a bunch of 16"ers the past few years! haha
If I entered all my 9" gills and seeds on the master angler I'd look like a real good fisherman too!

Damn,I didn't realize it was that close to the record...I'd be bell bent not to put one that big on the wall.
Yeah, there is a guy who has a bunch of suckers, gar, fallfish etc entered. Eh,whatever blows your hair back or in this case, tightens your line!

I thought about getting it mounted but it seems like a lot of money for a perch. Maybe if I get the record next year. I need to build a permanent shanty though or else the spot will be up for the taking! Uh oh! My normal fishing buddy will be gone all winter...
