has anyone been out. read a report on another board that they were getting some crappies on the flooded shorelines down near shoreham, its just a matter of finding a place to put in. I guess if you have a canoe or small boat you're at an advantage here. What about the rivers and walleyes. Think I might be heading up sunday to fish with scott if things work out right.

Got out today with the fly rod on some beaver ponds. Good fishing although most were small. It appears to be bug season too!

Fished Carmi with a couple buddies Saturday as well. Saw Dody at the launch, as we were both coming in at the same time. We left w 7 keepers but nothing over the upper size limit. Let about twice as many go,including some in the slot. a few pike and small bass in the mix. Only 1 perch and it was a dink.
That is a fun place to fish and I can't wait to get back up there. We marked lots of suspended fish above the humps and reefs. Like to go anchor and try jigging them to see what they are....
The first week of walleye was good for me,pretty tiring but fun. Looking forward to fishing in this rain all week... Can't wait to have the carmi eaters for dinner tonight.

We ended up getting onto the fish on Sunday. Brought home 10 pollock, 3 haddock, and 1 nice cod (11 lbs). Could have had many more but I was to stubborn to give up the jig in hopes of a giant, but no luck this time. The wind and rain kept the camera in the galley the entire day but it was a fun day for the two of us. A few people on board had 20 to 30 fish a person. We also got to watch a mink whale swim around about a hundred yards from the boat for a little while. All and all it was a good day for the two of us. Oh and Kaileigh got the biggest fish of the day as always.
