I've heard Pike fishing after the spawning run can be fast and furious, thought I'd try it this year. I was thinking St Albans Bay off Black Bridge might be a good spot , probably early May ??

The earlier the better- early may is usually pretty good. Charcoal creek can be productive, they hold up there for most of the year too. Smithwick rogues, bomber long-a's and other stick baits work well, along with the old stand by daredevle spoons or johnson silver minnows.

i find that the most productive way to catch good sized pike is with live bait. i use shiners or when i was in new york fishing i used yellow perch caught a 14lb hog using a yellow perch no bigger than 5 inches.
