Can you catch crappie in high muddy water, or is it better to wait for thing to calm down? I am thinking about giving some of the lower portions of the Conneticut river a try this weekend, but wanted to make sure I not just going to waste bait and gas fishing in the highwater from all the rain and snow melt we have recieved the last few days.

First thing first. Don't be afraid to waste gas trying to find crappie, they are worth it. Second, yes you can catch crappie in high muddy water if, if, the water is warmer than the main body. If I were you, I would be in the very back of the SP setback with a bobber and a minnow, fishing under that power-lines. That is where I would start, if all esle fails then go searching.

Ill try that if I make it there. I might try the setback in walpole first and see what happens. Do you think a crappie would go to clean water over muddy even if its colder?

I would say the warmer water for sure. 3 degrees can make all the diference in the world.

Slip bobbers suck, just get some pencil bobbers, and the guy in sp is supposed to have fat heads, last time he said he did they were the size of pike bait.. I don't know if Country Boys Bait is open still in bradford but you could try him,
