Fished Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this weekend.
Started the trip in Springfield with Mark in search of some crappie. Didn't find any but did get 5 nice fat river perch. Ice was at least 18" and we were able to walk on. Didn't stay to long down there. From there we drove north the Morey where we fished with Bobby. Got some nice gils while there. Used a plank to get on and off but the ice was still more than thick enough.
Saturday i fished Drews/Norwich for 2.5 hours. Water was down two to three feet and it took a while to find fish. Once i did i got some nice gils and landed one 8" crappie. Did lose two bigger crappie in the hole just before dusk.
Sunday fished drews again with my brothers. Water was still down, the fish had moved from the channel break where I found them the night before to the heart of the weeds. Managed some nice gils and one small crappie. The ice is still 18" or so and getting on was fine. I would think that we will be fishing down here at least next weekend and maybe beyond that.
Thinking about an afternoon trip if the waters up to try and get a few more crappie.
