i am still a rookie and learning but the lp low power portion of the vex i assumed was to conserve battery life WRONG it cut the signal power to help eliminate showing all the weeds which in turn makes it tougher to find your jig and fish that you should be seeing also when setting the gain this should be kept as low as possible and still show an accurate reading if your jig shows up red you need to set the gain lower so the jig is green this will help insure you are not getting false readings
