I have family coming up for the fourth of July week and want to take my cousin fishing on a new body of water. I live in the Sharon VT area (exit 2 on 89) and would love suggestions on a lake near by that would be fun to try. I have fished Fairlee, Miller, Morey, Halls, and the river. We would be fishing for Bass mostly but he would like to get a good pike if possible. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Have you tried Lake Bomoseen in Castleton? Bass and pike, and nearby is Glenn Lake for pike, but I don't think there's motor boats on Glenn.

If you have kayaks or a canoe give Ricker's a shot. Decent smallmouth and only a few camps. Kettle is fun as well but you have to carry a boat in maybe 300 yards. I've done it a few times by myself. Some big smallies in there as well as rainbows. Fun fishing and only one camp.

I was thinking about Hortonia or Dunmore, but never even thought about Bomo. I might give it a try. As for Rickers I fished that years ago and it has some real nice fish in it, but I have a feeling I will be using the big boat so that takes Rickers out of the picture.
Thanks for the input.

I have leaning towards the big lake, but I really don't know where to launch. Fished Laphams during the LCI with mixed results as well as button bay. I was thinking about maybe mallets or sand bar, but I really dont know because I have never fished soft water up there.

What do you want to catch? If you going to be in my neck of the woods I'll be glad to help you out. You can give me a call if you want.
