Safe ice south end Lake champlain

Anyone know for sure that the ice is safe on the southern end of Lake Champlain? My younger brother wants me to take him jigging, but the last time I was at Larabee's, the shoreline was breaking up. We will be walking, no quad, as I usually do. A safety update for Larabee's would be great. Thanks in advance.

fished larabies for the last time today the chanal is open from the launch to past the ferry it is very rotten all through the bay i wouldnt recomend going there ,thats to bad because they were realy biting good

Where do you live ? There is good ice up north in the islands,

I live in Benson Vermont. 25 mintutes west of Rutland. It is about 2 1/2 hours to the islands. The fish would have to be some what active to warrent the trip. Though I have not fished north of Crown Point ever, I would like to expand my fishing spots. The islands sounds fun, but I dont have time to scout around prior to bringing my 14 year old brother on the ice. I kinda want to put him in fish. In a typical year I would have no problem with that, but this year is ending alot sooner than I would like to see.
