Ok I'm looking to do some open water Crappie Fishing , I just got the Nice Okuma Rods Want to know a simple way to try for some crappie , Maybe Bobber split shot and a minnow on a hook or a Jig And at like Carry bay on the inlet , Sandbar inlet ?

I found a article to #6 hook with no weight just minnow has anyone tried that not sure how you would tell if they bite

Both will work, I just like to have control at all times, drifting a minnow is like dead sticking on the ice.

Well I got out , and stopped to the 1st on headed to Islands on the right near the brick house made my Cast Had a white and green 1/32 Jig with a Minnow and a bobber I did not have it out there 3 minutes got hooked on a tree and I look out and my bobber is gone, I start to reel it up and fish on , Reel got tangled up lossed drag got it to almost shore by had and Snapped my Line , Salmon I think I'm pretty sick tonight I think I need to call in
