I've seen better days at db fishin with the same jigs,no secret what I am using. It's pretty much all I ever use,the cady. I have noticed many different jigs tied on when I'm talking to people, esp at the last derby, lots of people had diff stuff on and they were catching fish. I don't have knowledge of your tackle box, my bad.
Last year I watched a guy sight fishing during late ice and he was Slammin em, if fish were right below the ice I would sight fish and not use my vex and vise versa.
As for ice out Crappie. I know one technique only, minnow and a bobber. I've read plenty of articles and such about good techniques but with my limited experience, if it ain't broke don't fix it - minnow and bobber!
Think outside the box and put 2 and 2 together. If you were me,where would you go? Some people without boats are pretty limited to accessing hot spots. I've learned a lot from reading older posts, esp when somebody is talking about trying certain places then you see them with fish...kind of a no brainer.
