The quality of the perch at Carmi has been outstanding this year.I usually fish the islands for sunnies, but due to gas prices and time restraints have spent most of my ice time at carmi this season. Pullin 12-13 inch slabs from 30 ft on light tackle is a hoot and the worms dont seem as bad this year.

Hey Lntfrnd , nice to meet a forum member on the ice. Fish were easy to find BUT hard to catch. Managed these , mostly on hot pink jigs.  gofish |

Gofish- good to meet you too. We ended up with about 25 or so. I was getting em on a white/blue glow genz bug and Kristen was using a white glow frosty,tipped with maggots. Here are a few pics.  Got some real fatties.  Going to head back up Saturday. Gofish? Anybody else? |

LntFrnd, can't go to Carmi Saturday. I'm on-call and need to be in cellphone range of work....and there's NO signal at Carmi.
I went back on Sunday and found some that wanted to be agressive, hit a blue Swedish Pimple. Then I was back to small jigs for the nibblers.

Tried your holes, found a couple, then walked out another 75 yds and caught a few more. gofish. |

Fished carmi today. Average fish wasn't as big as last wkend but we still had fun. Kristen got a couple big ones.  Mine were all smaller but no slouches.  About 18" of ice. About half and half black and white ice,maybe a little more white actually but it was ok getting on and off,no slush. The skinny water had some good greens growing and taking a look with the camera was interesting to say the least.. |
