in answer to are we catching fish? Of course I think I posted that somewhere here but let me fill you in..yesterday Wednesday Feb 9 we got a pail full of nice Gills & some nice seeds only fished from 1pm to 4pm got about 3 limits of hog bass BUT NOT 1 crappie..ice conditons are as follows..Stay off the trail for the 4 wheelers & snowmobiles it is a slushy mess..the rest is 12-15 inches of ice 3 -4 inches of water on top of that then another layer of 1-2 inches of ice with a frosting of snow that is about 1-2 inches most of the time you are walking on top but on occassion you will break thru.. we haven't been moving around much as we have found a nice little spot that has been giving us some great activity..maybe we are missing out on something (Crappie) not may fishermen (2 others they left and we had the whole place to ourselves for about 2 hours) We will be there again on Friday if Ricky does not have to work...if he does maybe I will look for a fishing partner lol..see you on the ice..stay safe

any of the setbacks on the river from springfield south are good for panfish. I'll be there either tomorrow or sunday.

Im fishing in Hinsdale on Sunday but as far as the Connecticut river goes its as far from Champlain as you can get. We have done will in Springfield so far this year which is about a two hour drive from Burlington, where Hinsdale is more like a 3 hour drive I would think. The one nice thing about Hinsdale is that if I can catch crappie in there any one can.
